Itinerary : example 2 days<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Day 1<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Start from Nice or any other place nearby and drive to the former capital of Provence, Aix-en-Provence. Visit the old town between the mansion-lined Cours Mirabeau and the Cathedral St. Sauveur and stroll on charming Proven\u00e7al markets. Enjoy the murmur of the renowned 18th century fountains spread all over the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drive to the Valensole Plains and discover the beauty of the abundant lavender blossoms (June\/July).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head further to the Luberon mountain chain and stay in one of the most charming and beautiful villages in that area: Gordes, Roussillon, Lourmarin or others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 2<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Continue your journey to Saint R\u00e9my de Provence and walk on the tracks of Vincent Van Gogh in St Paul de Mausole where he stayed at the end of his life. Visit the astonishing village of Les Baux on a spur of the Alpilles. Join one of the extraordinary exhibitions in the stunning Carri\u00e8res des Lumi\u00e8res (optional). Avignon, Arles, the Abbaye of Montmajour are other stops which should not be missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
